Play dough is great at any age

Play dough is that word we all dread hearing in answer to the question – what do you you want to play today?

I have gotten my phobia from my Mum where I was able to look at play dough in the tubs but very rarely able to play with it. If it was ever brought down to play with we were under no circumstances able to mix the colours and use the mr potato head tool to create strings of play dough every where. We lived in a 1970’s house where carpet still reigned and play dough did have a particular knack of getting stuck in like velcro.

Thankfully times have moved on and now we can create our own play dough and it is super piable and has great play-ability. It is a fantastic way to develop kids motor skills and keeps them engrossed for hours. Our play dough mats add an educational element to the play too.

Squishing, rolling, sculpting, molding . . . young children love to play with playdough. Add some props from around the home and playdough play becomes a powerful way to support your child’s learning. This simple preschool staple lets children use their imaginations and strengthen the small muscles in their fingers—the same muscles they will one day use to hold a pencil and write. Using playdough with you, a friend, or siblings supports your child’s social skills such as sharing, taking turns, and enjoying being with other people. Playdough also encourages children’s language and literacy, science, and math skills—all at the same time!

If you still have the “Mum phobia”, you can come and play with our home made play dough infused with essential oils in our centres. Great play experiences without the mess ❤️
